When someone visits our website we use the third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard information, like website traffic. This helps us understand the behaviour patterns of our visitors, which in turn aids us in improving our website, but poses no threat to you. The information collected is anonymous.

WHAT WE COLLECT:

We collect information when you: place an order; sign up to our mailing list; or provide contact information via our contact form. We collect the following information:

Your name and your contact information, including your email address and, in the case of customers, the delivery information you provide. As we process all payments using Paypal we don’t collect your bank or card details. All of our transactions are subject to the Paypal privacy policy which you can read here.

WHAT WE DO WITH THIS INFORMATION:

We require this information for internal record keeping. In the UK it is a requirement to keep records of all account transactions for 6 years for tax purposes. We may use this information to improve our products/services.

If you have opted to join our mailing list, we use the information you provide (name and email address) to send periodical emails regarding new products, special offers or other news/information relating to our business which we think you might be interested in. You can opt out of this at any time. You will never be automatically added to our mailing list, even if you place an order.

MAKING PAYMENTS:

When you place an order and make payment through this site, your financial account information will be collected by PayPal, our third-party payment processor. To view Paypal’s Privacy Policy click here.

Oddity Closet do not collect or store any financial information but we receive information from our payment processor regarding the payment, such as the date and time of order as well as your contact/delivery details. 

We keep a note of your details for a limited time in case there are problems with the post. We use Royal Mail and they have a cut off time of 3 months to investigate missing parcels. Any emails relating to purchases are deleted every 3 months. Certificates of postage, which feature delivery addresses, are shredded every 3 months.

SOCIAL PLUGINS:

This website allows you to use social media plug-ins to access features from sites such as Facebook and Twitter. These plug-ins are completely optional. The social networks you choose to connect with collect information about you when you use them, however this privacy policy does not apply to that data as it is neither stored or controlled by us. Please refer to the Privacy Statement of the relevant social media platforms regarding the data collected by their plug-ins. Choosing to use these plugins does not provide us with access to anything that you share on your social media accounts. 

If you choose to connect with us on our social media pages then we can of course see the information you make public such as your name on the platform. We don’t keep records of this data outside of each platform. Please refer to the Privacy Policy of the relevant social media platform regarding this data.

SECURITY:

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable procedures to safeguard the information we collect online. Please be aware however that, unfortunately, the internet can never be 100% secure. Please also note that emails are not encrypted and email correspondence is not a secure means of submitting any sensitive information. Oddity Closet will never ask for sensitive information via email.

CONTROLLING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION:

You have the right to restrict the collection or use of your personal information in the following ways:

• if asked to complete a form on our website you will be asked to accept the details of this privacy policy before you can proceed. Choosing not to will prevent you from placing orders.

• If you are a member of our website you can request a copy of the data that we have regarding you as well as delete your account under the ‘My Account’ section of our website.
• If you have signed up to our mailing list, you can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe button included at the bottom of every email we send.

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to any third parties unless we are required to do so by law.

You may request details of personal information that we hold about you under Data Protection Act 1998. A small administration fee may be applicable.
